Cosmetic Foundation to
Cover Hair Loss
There is nothing sophisticated
about applying some kind of foundation to camouflage
a thinning scalp but it is an alternative. It also complements
the spraying of either keratin
fibers or the quick
color fibers to areas of the scalp that have no
hair for the fibers to adhere to.
Coloring your head to
hide hair loss
It is a simple cosmetic
procedure, comparable to women's cosmetic foundation
or or pressed powder to the face. In this case, you
apply it with a sponge applicator to the scalp.
The foundation conceals
the paler parts of the scalp, masking the hairline.
The scalp coloring is brought closer to the hair color
giving the impression that it is not thinning.
There are clear limits
to what the foundation can do of course. It is only
color and not fibers that more resemble hair. It helps
to blend the fibers to the hairless areas of the scalp
and won't stand up to close scrutiny.
Thickeners to cover
hair loss
Thickeners also work
but the effects are only temporary. They include wax
and pomade. They give a slick look, add extra thickness
to the hair, and give the feeling of fullness to the
hair. Think Elvis Presley and Marlon Brando in the 1950's
and 1960's, and the looks of the hair of the other rockers.

Some shampoos and conditioners
also make your hair look thicker by leaving a thin film
of nutrientsand oils on each hair strand. This film
makes each hair look shiny and healthy.
Thckeners work best when
you already have lots of hair but thin ones.
