diseases causing temporary hair loss
There

hair loss are covered elsewhere on this website:
This
page focuses other diseases and illneses that cause
temporary hair loss. These are:
- Anemia:
Iron deficiency is the most common cause of anemia.
The body's iron level may drop because of diets that
have low iron intake, such as strictly vegetarian
diets, or increased blood loss sometimes associated
with prolonged periods of heavy menstruation.
- Diabetes:
Hair loss in diabetic patients can be due
to endocrine imbalances, stress, and poor blood circulation.
- Malnutrition
and eating disorders:
The lack of nutrition can be caused by eating disorders
such as anorexia and bulimia, or just plain lack of
proper food. Deficiency in zinc or essentiall fatty
acids can lead to hair loss until proper diet is restpred.
- Psoriasis:
Over-vigorous removal of plaques from the scalp while
treating psoriasis can cause scalp inflammation.
